ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS

Anna And The French Kiss is the debut novel of American author, Stephanie Perkins. It depicts the dilemma of the main character, Anna Oliphant, when she is forced to leave behind everything she holds dear in life. Anna is an American high school senior who is made to attend boarding school in Paris by her dad. She has to leave her high school crush, job, and best friend behind in the process.

Having landed up in Paris, her attitude immediately undergoes a change upon sighting Etienne St Clair. This young boy becomes her obsessive crush, and Anna ends up competing with Etiennes steady girlfriend in order to secure her romantic dream. Etienne, who was born in America and raised in England, has a seductive appeal about him that attracts all the beautiful girls in the school.

Anna, on the other hand, is passionate about movies and has lush brown hair. She immediately falls for Etienne, who though young, seems to possess an air of maturity about him that is complemented by his wit and humour. In Paris, Anna goes through turbulent emotions that change the course of her desires.

Friendship and relationships are looked into throughout this book. Anna And The French Kiss was published by Speak in 2011, and is available in the form of a paperback.
