SELECTED SHORT STORIES BY HECTOR HUGE MUNRO (SAKI)
Hector Hugh Munro, the man behind the cryptic pseudonym "Saki" (taken from Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam) was called Oscar Wilde of his day and hailed as a master stylist by eminent writers such as G.K. Chesterton, Noel Coward, Graham Greence and A. A. Milne. Between 1901 and 1916, Saki published more than one hundred short stories, many of which still dazzle the present day readers. Almost all his stories are set in Edwardian England. His lapidary prose, witty dialogue and macabre humour have influenced generations of popular British writers including Evelyn Waugh and Roald Dahl among others. This selection brings together some of his best known masterpieces.
